Distribute those systems

Sony is dispatching alerts to PS5 users in the US, urging them to exchange their console for cash if they’re not utilizing it.
The initiative – which operates through a third-party called Back Market – promises as much as $400 for a standard PS5 console with two DualSense controllers, contingent on their overall state.
Recently, Microsoft sent a comparable message to Xbox Series X|S owners, encouraging them to sell any consoles they aren’t actively using.

So, what’s the reasoning behind this?
Well, we’re experiencing unprecedented conditions, and the cost of new consoles has soared.
Additionally, the memory scarcity has significantly diminished stock – it’s quite challenging to acquire a PS5 Pro these days, even if standard systems might still be available.
However, the primary reason is that a dormant device yields no profit.
If an individual purchases a pre-owned console, there’s a high likelihood they’ll buy GTA 6 via the PS Store and a PS Plus membership – that translates to potential revenue for Sony that wouldn’t be realized if the console remained in storage gathering dust.
It is quite unusual to see console creators advocating for trade-ins in this manner, and naturally, they’d prefer you utilize your system daily and make transactions within their ecosystem.
But if you’re not, it appears companies are keen on you selling your console, so another person can acquire it and possibly spend some money.
