Fortnite’s Pirate Shop Unlocks the Entire Item Shop for Free
Battle Royale achieves over five million simultaneous players
If you haven’t been observing closely, Fortnite is currently featuring a pirate-themed season with available One Piece crossover elements.
However, the significant news is the unveiling of a Pirate Shop, which allows the entire Item Shop to be free for a fortnight. If you are part of a squad, then all members of your team will benefit from the reward.
To emphasize: upon finding the Pirate Shop token, both you and your teammates can incorporate every single cosmetic item from the Item Shop into your profiles at no cost. That equates to potentially hundreds of dollars worth of items.
There are some limitations: you are unable to gift anything to your friends, nor can you purchase levels in the Battle Pass. Nonetheless, everything else is available to you.
Following the Pirate Shop’s viral spread, Fortnite surged to more than five million concurrent players at its highest point across all devices. This marks a significant triumph for the game, which has not seen the same level of popularity recently.
Some are speculating that this may be the game’s strategy to keep players engaged before GTA 6 launches later in November. I presume this is something every live service developer is contemplating.
So, how do you gain entry to the Pirate Shop? Well, you must search Treasure-Hunt chests (marked with a skull and crossbones) and hope for exceptional luck. I assume Epic is aware of the quantity it’s distributing.
I’m astonished that a concept like this hasn’t been seen in Fortnite before, given that the game’s skins are immensely popular, thus unlocking the Item Shop for fortunate players was bound to attract people back.
I would be surprised if anyone here manages to access the Pirate Shop, but do ensure you comment if you succeed!
