Following the triumph of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, the publisher Ubisoft has announced that it currently lacks any other remakes of earlier installments in the franchise in progress.
By mid-July 2026, it was reported that Black Flag Resynced had achieved sales of three million copies, a figure that has likely increased since that time. It was considered a significant success, and there were speculations that Ubisoft was assessing the potential for further remakes based on these sales figures.
In spite of this achievement, Ubisoft conveyed in a comprehensive blog entry: “We want to be clear today that we do not have any other Assassin’s Creed remakes currently in active development. Our teams are concentrated on the forthcoming installment of Assassin’s Creed titles, which include projects you haven’t been informed about yet, featuring fresh settings and narratives.”
The publisher does not completely dismiss the possibility of further endeavors: “Like many of you, we cherish the notion of revisiting our classic titles, and we’ll continue to explore avenues for bringing older titles back.”
In its previewed series update, Ubisoft instead provided insights on Codename Hexe and Codename Invictus. The former is the Assassin’s Creed game set during the witch trials, whilst the latter is a multiplayer initiative.
Regarding Hexe, it stated:
We are making consistent strides on this darker Assassin’s Creed experience, although there is still much work to be done. We understand the wait has been prolonged, and we appreciate your patience and ongoing enthusiasm for the project. The team remains dedicated to delivering the unique vision at the core of this endeavor, and we plan to share our next significant update in 2027. Until we are ready to divulge more information, we will continue to relish your theories, discussions, and excitement as this experience evolves.
Concerning Invictus, it mentioned:
The team behind Codename Invictus,
