Crimson Desert’s Huge DLC, Charting the Unknown, Out Now on PS5

If Crimson Desert and all of its post-launch updates weren’t already sufficient, developer Pearl Abyss has unveiled a massive expansion in Charting the Unknown, now accessible on PS5 for £19.99 / $24.99.

Primarily, the new DLC presents three fresh questlines for the three playable protagonists. These are all post-campaign tasks, so you’ll need to have finished the main storyline to engage with them. Throughout the three new questlines, anticipate encountering “a foreboding entity in the desert, a perilous political struggle, a journey beyond time, and a historic enigma beneath the waves”.

Additionally, you can look forward to:
- Navigating the waters in your personal vessel
- Obtaining a diving suit for underwater discovery
- Personalizing your residence with editing options
- Stronghold oversight
- Pursuing romantic relationships with specific characters and getting married
Today’s new DLC aims to enhance an already unbelievably expansive PS5 open-world game. Its size and scope were previously unparalleled, and now you can incorporate the ocean into its playable area. In our second Crimson Desert PS5 review, we assigned an 8/10 rating and remarked:
“It’s a captivating open-world journey that achieves some genuinely remarkable peaks, and it has already progressed tremendously since its launch. If you can endure its more perplexing segments — of which there are plenty — then Crimson Desert approaches brilliance.”
