This past week, the third installment in Lara Croft’s Tomb Raider ‘Survivor’ trilogy was unexpectedly released on the Switch 2.
This coincides with Tomb Raider’s 30th anniversary this week. Additionally, Aspyr has unveiled a unique celebration trailer. It highlights all the titles this specific team has assisted in reviving recently, including the various collections.
“Today commemorates the 30th Anniversary of the Tomb Raider franchise! In 1996, exactly 30 years ago, the initial Tomb Raider game debuted. Who could have anticipated it would evolve into the enormous franchise it is now, or that Lara Croft would grow into a name recognized by all, synonymous with exploration?

“The original games, similar to the artifacts Lara discovers, haven’t been forgotten by time; they were merely awaiting someone to unearth them once again. Dive back into the pulse-racing action, investigate the mysteries once again behind ancient cultures and sinister secret factions, and relive the moment when Lara transforms into the Tomb Raider she is meant to be!”
If you haven’t yet experienced Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, it is now available at a 10% discount off its regular price. The trilogy collection is also at a 10% reduction, and discounts are offered on Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Aspyr’s classic Tomb Raider collections are also discounted.
Regarding the series’ future, Crystal Dynamics, Flying Wild Hog, and Amazon Game Studios will be launching Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis (a reimagining of the original game) for the Switch 2 and other platforms next February. Crystal Dynamics is also developing Tomb Raider: Catalyst, a brand-new entry set for release in 2028.
