As Xbox and Microsoft strive to discover a resolution for Arkane Studios instead of shutting the firm down, it’s being noted this evening by Bloomberg that several proposals have been made for the studio.
The publication’s sources indicate that Ubisoft and at least two other firms have made offers, yet Xbox has “not yet reached a consensus with any prospective purchaser”. It’s also mentioned that Xbox has “considered selling the studio to its executives”.
An Xbox representative merely relayed the following to Bloomberg:
“A representative for Xbox stated the organization is assessing options ahead of a December cutoff and refrained from providing further comments.”
As per the publication, Arkane’s Marvel’s Blade initiative is anticipated to be launched within the next year or two, but undeniably could face significant risks if the studio ultimately gets shut down.
What we know officially is that Microsoft has declared an extended deadline until December to hopefully determine a path forward, and we’re certain everyone is hoping for a satisfactory arrangement to be made soon.
Let’s wish for a favorable resolution so we can enjoy Marvel’s Blade within a couple of years.
