It’s the moment for The Elder Scrolls 6 to receive its official title! After a report last week revealing how Bethesda intended to disclose the title in November, the company has just accomplished that as part of its 40th anniversary festivities.
As we mentioned previously, there are spoilers ahead if you wish to remain uninformed!
The Elder Scrolls 6 will be officially recognized as “Sentinel”, and although today’s trailer does not provide any specifics whatsoever, it does reference Hammerfell by name, which is where the game was speculated to be located.
Here’s the accompanying description for the trailer:
“The scroll revealed merely a glimmer, a sheer covering slightly raised to my vision. A future forsaken. A triumph undone. Sands of time dispersed by destiny.” Yazar, Moth Priest to High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell (4E 206).
Your forthcoming adventure in Tamriel will be in The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel.”
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has also extended her congratulations to Bethesda regarding the announcement in a statement today:
The trailer was originally included at the conclusion of a video where Todd Howard commemorates the 40 years of Bethesda Game Studios, emphasizing that it felt like the “ideal moment” to unveil the full title of The Elder Scrolls 6.
We’ll leave you with that video below, and let’s hope we uncover a lot more details about the game in the upcoming year – perhaps it could even be a launch title for Project Helix? That would be quite remarkable! (for what it’s worth, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier believes it’s still more than two years away).
What are your thoughts on the title and trailer? When do you anticipate its release? Share your thoughts below.
