Kirby Air Riders’ Cancelled Halloween Event Gets A Returning Replacement
Update [Wed 4th Nov 2026, 3:30pm]:
Following the cancellation of its Halloween celebration last week due to some unpleasant performance issues, Nintendo has today unveiled Kirby Air Riders‘ substitute event. Better yet, it commences today!
This iteration includes a returning rule set from the Shadow Star’s Revenge event (which was last seen in March 2026), although the Ghost headgear reward from the nixed Halloween event remains valid at 1,100 points — it’s never too late to embrace a little eeriness, after all.
This event is going live later today, operating from 4th November at 7pm PT (that’ll be 5th Nov for those in Europe) until 9th November at 7pm PT.

While all points earned in the briefly held Trick or Treat event have now been reset to zero, Nintendo is enhancing the number of points accumulated per match to facilitate the collection of all the rewards.
Original Story: If you have been following Kirby Air Riders recently, you may have been eager to engage in the game’s new Halloween event this weekend and acquire some spooky Ghost headgear while doing so. Unfortunately, we regret to inform you that this will not take place, as Nintendo has cancelled the event.
The event was initially planned to take place from 28th October to 4th November, however, numerous players reported distressing technical glitches during early matches, with the screen frequently freezing — which, in a game as fast-paced as Air Riders, simply isn’t acceptable.

This time, Nintendo didn’t have a swift solution at hand, so it opted to cancel the event instead. “We have identified a problem in the ongoing event ‘Trick or Treat!’ where the screen intermittently freezes during gameplay,” a communication from the Japanese Nintendo Support social media account (via machine translation) stated this morning.
