Half of Control Resonant’s players were ‘new’ to the franchise
Remedy Entertainment possesses a notably strong piece of favorable news highlighted in its third-quarter fiscal results for the financial year 2026. The company is already experiencing a prosperous quarter due to the launch of Control Resonant, generating €39.6 million (approximately $44.3 million) in revenue, along with an EBITDA of €6.8 million and an operating profit of €0.6 million. This represents a 226 percent rise in its revenue, increasing from about €12.2 million compared to the same quarter in 2025.
Such a result would be favorable for any developer; however, for a niche-hit creator like Remedy, which relies on a devoted fanbase, there’s even more encouraging news: about half of Control Resonant’s sales thus far have come from gamers who did not partake in the first installment, Control.
“Attracting new players was a primary objective for this title, and these initial results suggest an expanding audience for the franchise and for Remedy,” stated CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon in a message to investors, highlighting that Resonant is the studio’s first self-published title.

Numerous developers have indicated that the endeavor of appealing to new audiences in 2026 is proving to be a significant challenge, as data reveals many players are remaining with their current favorite games rather than exploring new options.
Another noteworthy data point regarding audience demographics: console users in Brazil are becoming an increasingly important market for Remedy’s titles. This aligns with what we observed at Gamescom LATAM earlier this year, where Control Resonant’s creative director Mikael Kasurinen took the time to engage with an excited crowd of gamers. According to Gaudechon, this trend mirrors the traction the company witnessed in “growth markets” since the commencement of its pre-order initiative.
It remains unclear how this influx of new players will influence Remedy’s previous catalog of titles. Remedy noted that sales of the original Control “surpassed both the previous period and the first two quarters of this year,” yet offered no additional figures.
