At Dead Of Night gained rapid popularity during the pandemic, largely due to streamers and content creators like Markiplier, 8-BitRyan, John Wolfe, and DomPlays, who introduced us to Jimmy Hall, an eerie hotel proprietor determined to attract an audience for his late-night comedy performance and psychopathic comedic persona, Hugo Punch.
The upcoming game, subtitled The Great Hugo, resumes half a decade later.
“Five years later, Maya remains plagued by her encounters in Sea View Hotel,” the synopsis alludes. “In search of answers, she recalls the ghost box she utilized in the hotel, which was left behind when she made her escape.
“After exploring online [auction] platforms and antiquities shops, she discovers a similar apparatus, but struggles to make it function. She reaches out to an old companion and counselor, Quinn, who had assisted her in comprehending her supernatural encounters in the hotel. Quinn identifies the device and is aware of where they were created – by an inventor who previously resided in a large Tudor manor close to Sea View – but cautions her against attempting to activate it. Nevertheless, Maya disregards his counsel and embarks on her own investigation.”
Just how long “(very) soon” will be remains unknown, but we’ll keep you updated.
