Xbox has experienced numerous triumphs with first-party launches in 2026, and one such title is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 – not solely because it’s a CoD installment, but also due to the excellent reviews it has garnered.
In fact, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma remarked about this on social media last evening, emphasizing how Modern Warfare is “among the most renowned Call of Duty titles in its 24-year legacy”.
She further emphasized that the franchise has now surpassed $40 billion in total earnings. Incredible!
Modern Warfare 4 is part of a series of outstanding Xbox first-party releases this year, which include Forza Horizon 6 (nominated for Game of the Year at the Golden Joysticks), Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day, and more.
It’s quite astonishing that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has emerged as one of the top releases of 2026 for Xbox as well – it was launched on PS4 and PS5 along with BO1 earlier this year, and it has sold exceptionally well thus far.
We are very curious to see how Modern Warfare 4 performs in sales across all platforms, especially since it did not debut on Xbox Game Pass. If the numbers are impressive, it might indicate significant changes for the service in the future.
Did you purchase Modern Warfare 4? Do you think the sales figures will be monumental? Let us know in the comments.
