Two Metro Redux Games Receive Free 4K/60FPS Upgrades For Xbox Series X|S, Full Patch Notes Revealed

By on October 30, 2026 0 5 Views

At the beginning of October, we heard about next-gen enhancements for Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux, bringing them in line with Xbox Series hardware.

Currently, the upgrade is available for digital owners of Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux on Xbox Series X|S; however, please note that prior saves will not transfer, necessitating a new game.

It’s important to highlight that both titles also participate in the Xbox Disc to Digital program, so if you insert the discs and redeem the digital license, you should be able to upgrade your physical disc versions as well.

The patch notes are quite extensive, so here are some of the “highlights” from the latest upgrade:

  • Genuine 4K at 60FPS natively on Xbox Series X|S – Upscaled to 4K at 120FPS
  • Support for Xbox Play Anywhere
  • Optimizations for Xbox Ally/Ally X – 4A TSR upscaling and antialiasing support

To install the ‘Next-Gen Update’ versions of both Metro Redux titles, simply hit ‘Y’ and type ‘Metro Redux’ in the Xbox dashboard. From there, you should be able to find the Xbox Series X|S versions of each title. The update is complimentary for current owners.

Here’s a peek at the complete patch notes:
