Original Story: Well, well, well! In anticipation of its expected revelation at the ID@Xbox Showcase next week, internet detectives have uncovered an official Xbox Store page for Shrek 2 Remastered, which is set to be available on Xbox Series X and S.
The page indicates that it is being created by Aspyr Media, recognized for ports of titles like Star Wars Episode 1 Racer and Lord of the Rings: War in the North. This rendition of Shrek 2 is reported to have been “reconstructed with improved textures, upgraded UI, 4K resolution and cutscenes”, alongside a new Photo Mode and Cheat Mode.
A GTA 6-style trailer has even been disclosed ahead of time via the Xbox Store, which you can view below:
Naturally, Shrek 2 (the game) was never regarded as a flawless classic by reviewers, but it carries significant nostalgia for so many individuals who enjoyed it on the Xbox, PS2, GameCube, and PC. We believe it’s going to be yet another strong-selling port for Aspyr upon its eventual launch.
No release date is mentioned in the trailer that was shared today, but this information wasn’t meant to be made public yet, so there’s a possibility we could hear more about a launch timeframe at the ID@Xbox showcase.
