There are still roughly six months remaining until Exodus launches on PS5, granting developer Archetype Entertainment ample time to refine its Mass Effect-inspired RPG.

And this is precisely what the studio has accomplished with the primary character, Jun.

In a rather unexpected announcement from the studio, general manager Chad Robertson has disclosed that the team has modified the male lead’s appearance based on responses from prospective players.

Indeed, if you revisit the comment sections of earlier trailers — of which there have been a considerable number — you’ll encounter numerous individuals criticizing Jun’s former appearance.

Thus, the developers have provided him with a new visage. The overall length of Jun’s face has been shortened, and his more rounded features have been slightly refined.

As you may already know, or perhaps inferred, Jun is not a completely customizable lead.

While you can select whether to be a male or female Jun, altering their facial structure is not an option. However, you can adjust their hairstyle, facial hair, eye color, makeup, and tattoos.

Do you believe the new Jun is an improvement over the previous one? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Robert (or Rob if you prefer brevity) serves as an assistant editor at Push Square, and has been an aficionado of PlayStation since the 90s when Tekken 2 introduced him to the magnificent realm of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, yet RPGs are his genuine passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he’s experienced them all.
