In yet another completely packed year of fresh video games, it seems like ages since Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched (it’s genuinely only a few months), yet completionists haven’t ceased inquiring Ubisoft for a New Game Plus feature. Well, Ubisoft has rather nonchalantly verified that the game’s New Game Plus update will arrive in an update “next week,” quelling months of player pleas in a 16-word tweet.
“Thank you all for your understanding,” states a tweet from the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter profile, seemingly recognizing how long it has been since we’ve heard anything regarding Black Flag Resynced post-launch. “New Game+ is set for Black Flag Resynced next week!”
Thank you everyone for your understanding.
New Game+ is arriving at Black Flag Resynced next week! 🥂🎊 https://t.co/nUYYmpzFS7October 22, 2026
I’ll confess, even being the pirate game fanatic I am and with Black Flag being one of my most awaited launches of the year, I stopped playing that game hard. Don’t misunderstand me, it’s a spectacular remake that succeeds in the unlikely task of genuinely enhancing the original game, which has always been a 10/10 title for me. It’s just that, for me, a remake will always have difficulty going head-to-head with completely new games, and this year has featured some amazing ones from my presumed GOTY The Blood of Dawnwalker to the finest new horror game I’ve experienced in years, Resident Evil Requiem.
However, that’s beside the point. It’s uncertain if the Black Flag Resynced update featuring the New Game Plus mode will come with additional content, as again it has been a while since the game received any new additions at all, but it is at least confirmed that you’ll have an entirely new means to experience the main campaign once more.
We’ll also be on the lookout for a specific release date, as for now it’s simply “next week,” but regardless, it’s certain we will learn more shortly.
