The Koei Tecmo fantasy alchemy RPG Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories is set to arrive on the Switch 2 early next year. In an announcement from Gust this week, it was confirmed that a “body shape alteration feature” is officially on the horizon.
In a statement on the game’s website, the developer disclosed that this feature’s introduction was influenced by recent community survey results and input. Karia’s body shape “will adjust based on how much she consumes during snacks.” Players will have the option to toggle the body shape alterations “on” and “off” (and fix the shape) according to their preferences.
Gust: “When the feature is activated, Karia’s body shape will modify according to how much she consumes during snacks. When it is deactivated, her body shape will remain unchanged regardless of her eating habits. Even with body shape alterations turned ON, players will have the option to secure Karia at a desired body shape, preventing further consumption from changing it.
“Whether you wish to appreciate Karia’s body shape changes, retain your desired body shape, or play without any alterations at all, the feature is being developed to let you enjoy the game in your preferred manner.”
Based on the recent survey findings, 78.9% of participants expressed a desire for this feature in Gust’s forthcoming game. Here’s a glimpse:
Koei Tecmo also inquired about the favorite costumes for Karia and requested suggestions for a “special short story” based on a theme they should develop, with “Karia goes on a culinary journey” securing the top ranking. You can explore the other results on the official game site.
