At first glance, JSAUX’s 6-in-1 Dock for the Switch 2 is an enticing gadget.
Alongside docking your console for television mode, it also features four slots to charge Joy-Con, as well as space for your Pro Controller. With a collapsible design, it serves as an excellent travel companion, and the polished display screen adds a nice little detail that will likely attract some attention. Nevertheless, there are several noticeable flaws that impede its performance.
Beginning with the advantages, I appreciate the appearance of this device. JSAUX excels in minimalist design, and the 6-in-1 Dock exemplifies this exceptionally. There’s not a trace of branding on the outer shell, with the company’s logo confined to the display screen when it’s powered on.
The colored Joy-Con slots — two on each side of the screen and two at the base — are color-coordinated for convenience, and the contrast with the otherwise black housing is appealing.
The screen maintains the minimalistic theme, showcasing simple icons for each accessory within the circular display. The arrangement is effective, evoking an almost nostalgic vibe reminiscent of radar screens.
Regarding the icons, these shift in color based on what’s presently charging, with white signifying standby mode, red for ongoing charging, and green for a completed charge.
Joy-Con controllers fit in magnetically, similar to the console itself, though the magnet strength is reduced to allow for easy detachment. As for the Pro Controller, this fits upside down into the recessed area at the back. There’s minimal support for the controller while connected, leading to considerable wobbling and a real risk of damaging the USB-C port if you inadvertently push it too far in any direction.
Here’s the real twist, though: if you’re utilizing the dock to charge your Pro Controller, you cannot actually use it as a dock. This is due to the inclusion of an additional module for your console,
