Griffin Gaming Partners has initiated a new enterprise to facilitate game adaptations for cinema and television in collaboration with talent management and production company Entertainment 360.
Named HITpoint Entertainment, the firm will “merge Griffin’s connections with game developers and publishers alongside Entertainment 360’s production history on IP-driven franchises.”
“In addition to creating opportunities for the company’s clients, this new initiative will explore connections throughout the wider creative community, matching each property with the filmmakers, talent, and studio partners most qualified to bring it to life on screen,” the entities informed The Hollywood Reporter.
“HITpoint will ensure that game creators remain actively involved from the initial development stage to production, aligning interests while providing them direct access to top writers, filmmakers, actors, and production associates.”
Griffin co-founder and managing director Peter Levin was a significant investor in Amazon’s Fallout television series, whereas Entertainment 360’s clients are presently engaged in the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda.
“Video games signify one of the most thrilling sources of narratives and characters in film and television, but successfully adapting them necessitates a genuine understanding of the ingenuity and enthusiasm developers contribute to their craft,” remarked Levin.
“Griffin has dedicated numerous years establishing trusted connections within the gaming community, spanning from major publishers to the independent studios we assist. We view this vehicle as a distinct resource for our over 100 portfolio companies, our strategic partners, as well as the broader gaming ecosystem.”
Entertainment 360 stated: “An infrastructure has long existed in Hollywood for early identification of books and other foundational material. HITpoint applies that same focus to gaming. Together with Griffin, we can pinpoint compelling IP at an early stage, introduce it into a development atmosphere, and align it with filmmakers who truly comprehend the material and its unique qualities.”
HITpoint aspires to adapt significant franchises as well as independent games,
