Final Fantasy 7 Revelation’s Hard Mode is available from the start this time, so you won’t need to replay the mammoth RPG to get to the good stuff

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will permit players to access Hard Mode from the very outset of their adventure, in contrast to FF7 Remake and Rebirth, which required users to complete the game before unlocking the harder difficulty option.
This information comes from director Naoki Hamaguchi, who informed Hardcore Gamer that the Hard Mode in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation “won’t operate in precisely the same manner” as it did in the past. For next year’s concluding chapter, the developers “reconceptualized the high-difficulty experience to correspond with the new game design.”
This time, the realm of Gaia is said to open up quite early in the gameplay. Cloud and his team can head straight to some of the game’s most difficult battles as soon as they take off in their flying vessel, irrespective of their preparedness for the conflict. Thus, Square Enix‘s strategy towards difficulty had to be adjusted as well.
“Hard Mode is available for selection right from the very beginning of this game,” Hamaguchi elucidated. “Consequently, players who wish to confront demanding battles and high-difficulty gameplay from the start will be able to relish that experience from their very first run. This is due to the fact that, contrary to Remake and Rebirth, Revelation provides a broad range of end-game content even after the game has been completed. Instead of merely depending on the conventional progression of challenging Hard Mode after finishing the game, we aimed to design an experience where players can enjoy various new content and challenges even post the main narrative.”
As much as I cherished both Remake and Rebirth, the combat never truly pushed my limits or tested my aged reflexes until I finally engaged in that second run—specifically, with Rebirth, that required at least 50 hours of gameplay. FF7 Revelation is appearing to be yet another colossal experience that could easily demand 100 hours for complete mastery, it seems, so I’m quite relieved to learn that I can dive into the exciting aspects right away. Hard Mode is genuinely where these titles excel.
