Avatar: Seven Havens fans think plan to release 26 episodes at once “would’ve killed the show”
Avatar: Seven Havens enthusiasts are delighted that the series opted for a gradual release, dropping three episodes a week, rather than the earlier announced strategy of unveiling all 26 episodes simultaneously.
Initially, it was stated, largely due to some perplexing press release wording, that the 26-episode season would premiere on Paramount Plus in a binge-watch manner. Remember that each episode lasts precisely 30 minutes.
Fortunately, a fresh trailer that was released in September disclosed that the show would be divided into two volumes. The first volume, consisting of 13 episodes, is set to roll out in batches of 3 episodes starting on October 9 and concluding with a four-episode release on October 30. The premiere date for Volume 2 is yet to be revealed.
The new installment takes place approximately 225 years after the storyline of The Legend of Korra and 300 years subsequent to The Last Airbender, in a realm where airbenders are perceived as destructive and harmful entities rather than champions.
“Had they proceeded to release all episodes at once, it genuinely would’ve extinguished the show,” one viewer commented.
“I believe they’ve struck a good balance since the cliffhangers keep the audience intrigued. Any less or more would have made the narratives seem unbalanced,” another individual remarked.
One viewer, on the other hand, proposed an alternative approach for the release of Volume 2: “I think they’ve been releasing a tad too many each week, and while it worked for this season, I believe future seasons should limit that to about 2 per week at most.”
