It’s often the case that December tends to be a calm period for new video game launches, but we still have a few significant titles scheduled for the initial weeks on Xbox, including two intriguing remasters on December 3rd.
We were already aware of the first one – Rayman Legends Retold is arriving on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on that date. It appears somewhat unnecessary to “reimagine” an Xbox One game like Rayman Legends, but the previews have largely been quite positive, and it’s undeniable that Legends is an exceptional game overall.
The subsequent title has just been revealed for December 3rd today, and it’s Thief: The Dark Project Remastered. The original Thief has never made an appearance on Xbox before, having initially launched on PC back in 1998, yet it was deemed one of the top games of that year on any platform, boasting an impressive average score of 92 on Metacritic.
The remaster is being managed by the specialists at Nightdive Studios, renowned for numerous excellent remasters in recent years, so if you don’t mind its outdated aspect, this could be a must-have on the 3rd.
Exciting developments! We’ll provide you with more information about both games below.
Set forth on a daring reimagining of the celebrated platformer, packed with fresh content and narrative surprises. When a sinister antagonist spreads corruption throughout the Glade of Dreams, traverse its enchanting realms solo or in up to 4-player couch co-op in a fast-paced, side-scrolling adventure where every misstep and unexpected event contributes to the delightful chaos.
