Fresh live action teaser is exceptionally Obsidian

We’re nearly two weeks away from The Outer Worlds 2 at this stage, and as the promotional phase of the game begins to escalate, the team has released a new live action teaser that pokes fun at sequels – and it’s extremely tongue-in-cheek Obsidian.

As always, we’ve placed this teaser above for you to check out. We must confess, there’s not a significant amount of new details to extract from this – but it is quite entertaining, with its playful ‘Big Sequel Energy’ slogan and featuring actor/comedian Ben Schwartz to support the entire concept.

“Before a sequel can achieve greatness, it must first be evaluated. Repeatedly, in front of an audience of complete strangers.

This is The Outer Worlds 2 Focus Group – where the “Head of Sequels” and his panel of volunteers valiantly navigate the limits of personal space, T-shirt cannons, and the improper usage of gift cards.

Some label it as research. We label it as Big Sequel Energy.”

We recognize they’re not directly connected, but it is intriguing to observe this kind of initiative receive approval amid the current happenings with Xbox. The Outer Worlds revels in deconstructing corporations within its futuristic sci-fi setting, yet has now transformed into a series that is published by one. Kudos to everyone involved for maintaining this theme/message in the sequel and its related trailers!

Regardless of that, The Outer Worlds 2 will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5 on October 29thand it’s available for preload at this moment! Additionally, the Xbox and PC variants will, of course, be featured in Game Pass Ultimate on launch day.

Ben serves as a News Writer at Pure Xbox, and is an enthusiast of action, racing, and straightforward shooting in any Xbox title he encounters. When he’s not gripping an Xbox controller as if his existence hinges on it, Ben enjoys listening to music that’s considerably dated for his age, watching football on television, and likely dining somewhere.
