Talking Point: What’s Your Favourite Backwards Compatible Xbox Game?

We’re seeking some suggestions!

We’ve certainly had extensive discussions about backwards compatibility here at Pure Xbox over the years, but we frequently inquire about which titles you’d wish to see made backwards compatible – rather than the titles that currently are.

Moreover, there’s an incredible selection of back compat games for Xbox that are absolutely worth experiencing in 2025! Personally, one that stands out is Split/Second – an excellent racing experience from the Xbox 360 period that’s still thriving in online multiplayer today due to backwards compatibility on Xbox One and Series X|S.

A number of the Rockstar titles are clear favorites as well. Max Payne 3 is depicted in the image above, and let’s not overlook classics like GTA 4 (along with its two DLCs), Red Dead Redemption, Bully, and the iconic Rockstar Table Tennis!

You may notice several of these backwards compatible games rising to the top of the Xbox charts occasionally as well. All of the classic Call of Duty entries (which curiously aren’t yet on Xbox Game Pass) are excellent choices for nostalgic enjoyment in 2025, Skate 3 remains one of the greatest skateboarding titles ever, and a bit of Fallout or Gears of War is always a solid option.

And once again, I simply want to emphasize that if you’re searching for original Xbox emulation, the Xbox 360 accommodates a significantly larger library of games compared to the Xbox One, Series X, and Series S. I’ve been enjoying Burnout 3: Takedown, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, and many other classics on my Xbox 360 Slim over the last few weeks.

So, here we are – we’re eager for your suggestions! With numerous backwards compatible games accessible on Xbox these days, we’re bound to have overlooked something, so share your favorites in the comments below!
