“This is the spot where the team is genuinely crafting, prototyping and assessing”
There has been considerable discussion lately regarding the upcoming generation of Xbox and if Microsoft might actually eliminate its next-gen console(s), but a fresh walkthrough of the hardware laboratories indicates Team Xbox is diligently working on what lies ahead.
As can be observed in the video below, Xbox’s Sarah Bond guides Good Morning America through the labs and explicitly notes (at 0:41) that it is the place for creating, prototyping and evaluating the next generation of Xbox.
“This is where the crew is genuinely crafting, prototyping and assessing for the next generation of Xbox. It is top secret… we seldom bring people in here.”
If this narrative sounds familiar, it’s likely because you have encountered it before! Back in April, Phil Spencer did precisely that, giving the audience at the “Today” show a tour of the labs.
Once more, the narrator at that time indicated how it was “where the forthcoming generation of Xbox is being developed right now”.
So indeed – things are transpiring in this location! What types of things? That’s anyone’s speculation, although they have already noted a next-gen console (or possibly consoles) that is in the pipeline, and there is a belief that they are also focusing on the Xbox Elite Series 3 controller. Likely a few surprises as well!
We hope to uncover more details soon, but it’s evident they’re still dedicated to hardware at Xbox HQ right now.
