A commendable split for Series X|S!

It’s well-known that Battlefield 6 has garnered some excitement after a period where the series struggled to capture the mainstream audience – yet an initial sales report illustrates just how effectively the game is performing currently, including on Xbox Series X and S systems.
The team at Alinea Analytics returns this week with a significant report on Battlefield 6 and its market introduction. The main news here is that the game has reportedly sold over 6.5 million units already, and that’s “in its first few days” according to Alinea’s assessments.
“Following a series of blunders, the Battlefield franchise has made a remarkable commercial return, with over 6.5 million copies sold within its first few days across PC and console, based on our estimates.”
“This equates to upwards of $350M in total revenue, positioning Battlefield 6 among the year’s – no, the generation’s – most significant launches.”
Furthermore, the outlet has also shared some approximate platform distribution for these sales figures – and the Xbox version holds up quite nicely. Despite a considerably smaller install base, the Series X|S edition has allegedly sold 1.2 million units (19.6% of the total), in comparison to 1.5 million on PS5 and 3.5 million on Steam.
The report included a brief note regarding this above-average Xbox sales share:
“On console, Xbox’s elevated share of players compared to its reduced installed base is somewhat expected. After all, Battlefield has a rich legacy on Xbox – and early-adopter gamers on the platform are frequently attracted to new shooters.”
