Report: Starfield PS5 Port Planned For Spring 2026 Alongside New Expansion

Still, steer clear of hopes for a stealth launch.

The Starfield scene has been fairly hushed lately, though fresh chatter hints that silence is about to break. Publication MP1st claims today that the RPG’s second add-on—together with a native PlayStation 5 edition—is on track for Spring 2026, and word may arrive sooner than you’d guess.

The outlet states, based on insiders, neither the conversion nor Expansion 2 is targeting a 2025 debut. Rather, Microsoft is “reportedly favoring a Spring 2026 arrival” for the PS5 edition, aligning it with the next major story DLC, which would appear between March and June of that year.

“Our contacts indicate Starfield won’t see daylight before 2025, partly due to the first DLC, Shattered Space, selling below targets. Microsoft is now eyeing a Spring 2026 PlayStation 5 launch.

That PS5 drop is penciled in to land alongside Starfield’s second expansion and assorted quality-of-life tweaks.”

Though the actual launch looks distant, the reveal itself may be closer than you think. The same story stresses Bethesda will not pull an Oblivion Remastered-style surprise, so news should precede release by at least some margin. Still, the piece also “doesn’t anticipate” a Gamescom unveil, so temper expectations for next month’s Xbox streams.

For now this remains unconfirmed, so keep that grain of salt handy. Still, a PS5 migration feels logical given Bethesda’s legacy on the platform and Microsoft’s shift toward broader multiplatform publishing. Fingers crossed Expansion 2 is legit so Series X/S players get fresh missions too.

Does this roadmap jibe with your predictions? Suit up and drop your theories in the comments.
