Very impressive results

Earlier this month, we brought news that Forza Horizon 5 was about to surpass three million sales on PS5, and now it’s done just that – seemingly becoming the best-selling new PS5 game of 2025 in the process.
These figures are again coming from Alinea Analytics, who’ve provided an update for us on how FH5 is doing on the Sony platform. According to the analytic firm, the open-world racer has now surpassed the sales of Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds – which would make it the best-selling new PS5 launch of the year so far.
“Last week, Forza surpassed 3 million copies sold on PS5, overtaking Monster Hunter: Wilds. This means Forza Horizon 5 is 2025’s best-selling new game on PlayStation consoles – for copies sold, anyway.
Forza’s most recent sale (-25% to $45) was the engine that drove it past the coveted three-million mark on PS5.”
As you can see in the above quote there, the firm believes that recent sales promotions for Horizon 5 on PS5 have helped push the Xbox-developed racer over the three million sales mark. Still, it’s a super-impressive feat, especially considering the game is more than three years old for Xbox and PC players.
All of this success for FH5 on PS5 points towards the next Forza game likely releasing day and date on the Sony platform. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has already teased another Forza title for 2026, so, it’s sounding like racing fans across platforms will be getting another big title to get stuck into next year.
