One of the titles we highlighted in our “upcoming Xbox releases” article on Saturday was Blood West, which is characterized as “a captivating stealth FPS” that has achieved “Very Positive” ratings on Steam since its debut in 2023.
This title features expansive environments that will take you approximately 20 hours to finish, and 35 hours if you aim to explore all they have to present, and it encourages you to undertake missions and discreetly eliminate the ghouls and creatures that inhabit its territory (or if you truly wish to, just charge in with guns blazing!).
Weird West lore intersects with eldritch terror in BLOOD WEST, a captivating stealth FPS. Transform into the Undead Gunslinger, destined to wander the desolate lands until he discovers a way to lift their curse and liberate his spirit. No, this isn’t your usual Wild West outlaw redemption storyline. This is a tale of damnation.
The gameplay favors the cautious approach: scouting the surroundings, stalking your foes, and attacking from the shadows. Can you devise a strategy to eliminate a fortress full of ghouls and monsters without triggering an alarm? If sneaking around doesn’t exactly suit you, or you believe that you possess a strength advantage over your adversaries, you could always confront them head-on and meet them with guns ablaze. Blood West is crafted by the developers of the beloved boomer shooter POSTAL: Brain Damaged, so plenty of gratuitous fantasy violence and pixelated blood splatter can be expected!
It has been noted that Blood West draws influence from titles such as Thief, Stalker, Hunt: Showdown, and System Shock, which is quite fascinating as we are big admirers of all four of those games!
