“It’s fantastic to bring games from this area to Xbox”
Soon after Microsoft’s Tokyo Game Show livestream concluded earlier today, the team shared a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast – where Sarah Bond indicated that Asia is presently the rapidly expanding region for the platform.
This may not come as a significant surprise, considering that historically it has been less prioritized and among Xbox’s underperforming areas with ample opportunity for expansion – but evidently, Microsoft is eager to inform us that it is indeed growing in that segment of the globe.
Here’s how Bond articulated the point on the podcast:
“Currently, Asia is indeed our fastest growing region at Xbox. We had over 300 indie developers — indie creators, from Asia — who launched their games on Xbox last year; 500 we are presently collaborating with. It’s just wonderful to bring games from this part of the world — from Asia and Japan — to Xbox enthusiasts worldwide.”
