Wilson, naturally, refrained from explicitly mentioning GTA 6, but he strongly hinted that Battlefield 6 is now better positioned to meet that release timeframe than it was previously, following Rockstar’s delay.
“Game development takes numerous years, and if you weren’t already prepared to launch within this timeframe, it may prove challenging to get ready and capitalize on what is potentially a less competitive period than we may have anticipated earlier concerning Battlefield,” Wilson remarked.
“What we’ve consistently stated is that we’ve been working towards a period that we believed was most suitable for Battlefield, but we wouldn’t launch during a timeframe that we felt diminished the value we’ve invested in the franchise or the value we believe our players will gain when they begin playing.”
“I think now, without going into too much detail, we feel that window is clearer than before, and we’re optimistic about launching Battlefield in FY 26.”
