COD Modern Warfare 4’s controversial Possum ability nerfed to stop it being used “as a combat mechanic instead of a survival mechanic”
But will the modifications include marsupial?

Since the debut of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ mode, participants have primarily debated two subjects: whether a PvE-only mode is necessary, and whether Possum – an in-game attribute – should have a role in an extraction scenario.
Furthermore, developer Infinity Ward has evidently taken a stance in the Possum debate by introducing a significant adjustment to its functionality. In the latest patch for Modern Warfare 4, released overnight, the developer established that Possum – a skill capable of reviving a player – cannot be triggered when the squad that eliminated you is in proximity. Possum also cannot be activated if it has been fewer than four minutes since your demise.
These modifications aim to tackle the most frequent grievances, yet Infinity Ward has left room for additional adjustments in the future, such as modifying its range and duration.
If you’re not acquainted, Possum enables a player to revive themselves from a completely deceased condition once per match. To surrounding players, you seem dead and your body is vulnerable to looting. However, by utilizing Possum, savvy players were capable of enacting immediate revenge on their slayers – or anyone else close to their seemingly lifeless body – by springing back to life and shooting them from behind.
The intended purpose of Possum was for deceased players to have another opportunity at extracting from the match, rather than surrendering the game entirely. Although their loot might be forfeited, Possum permitted players to preserve their operator.
Infinity Ward emphasized this objective in a note accompanying the modification. “The aim for Possum is to provide a high-level operator a second chance,” the developer stated in a blog post. “With the current version, Possum was being utilized as a combat tactic instead of a survival tactic.
“These adjustments are intended to inhibit players from re-engaging in the battle they just lost.
