Bruce Lee, the legendary martial artist who passed away in 1973, is now in Minecraft. His family’s Bruce Lee Enterprises has announced a partnership with LogDotZip to bring Lee to the game as part of the Bruce Lee: Dragon Fury DLC in the Minecraft Marketplace.
Lee’s daughter Shannon Lee said, “This was a true collaboration and we’re excited for gamers to dive in and play.”
Lee is not a playable character, but instead players can toss a spawn egg that summons Lee to battle. He’ll join players as their companion and will follow players and defend them. Every time Lee defeats an enemy, he gets experience points that increase his overall level that in term unlocks more skills.
Lee also has a supernatural ability called Dragon Fury, which is a devastating attack that takes down all nearby enemies. You can get a glimpse of this in the video below.
Players will also find “Knowledge Scrolls” in the game world that can be opened to hear recordings of Lee’s voice, telling them about the wisdom he accrued over his life. Finally, there are 11 outfits that players can unlock for Lee to wear.
The DLC includes voice lines from Lee, outfits based on his movie appearances, and more than 100 martial arts animations. “Defeat opponents, gain wisdom, and unlock the Fury of the Dragon! Empty your mind. Be formless, shapeless, like water,” reads a line from the DLC’s description.
The Bruce Lee: Dragon Fury DLC is available to buy for 990 Minecoins, which is about $6 USD.
Bruce Lee got his own game in 2006 with Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon. In 2014, Lee was added to EA Sports UFC, which upset some fans because he never actually fought competitively.
