GTA 5 remains a title that, despite surpassing a decade in age, still achieves extraordinary sales every month, and this new “Just for You” Xbox promotion might trigger another surge of sales in late June and July.
During the weekend, some of us at Pure Xbox noticed that the Xbox Series X and Series S edition of GTA 5 is available with an impressive 87% discount on the Microsoft Store, bringing the price down to just £5.20 here in the UK. This includes both the story mode and GTA Online – featuring enhanced graphics and improved performance for Xbox Series X|S.
The condition is that you apparently need to have the Xbox One version of GTA 5, as the Just for You offer informs that you are “eligible to upgrade because you possess the standard edition.” Here’s a snapshot of what I’m observing on my Xbox console:
If you are encountering this 87% discount for GTA 5 on Xbox Series X|S, it comes highly recommended – primarily for the ability to play at a superior frame rate compared to the 30FPS Xbox One version. The visual quality is certainly improved as well, while GTA Online players can also take advantage of a few features specific to current-gen.
And indeed, the game is part of Xbox Game Pass currently, but Take-Two is known for swiftly removing their titles from Game Pass – don’t be shocked if GTA 5 exits the service by October or even sooner.
