By Return to the Shire this July
Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game is set to launch digitally on the Switch this July, and it has recently been confirmed that a physical version will also be available on the same date.
This announcement was made by ‘iam8bit’, who will offer a standard retail edition (featuring a fold-out map and digital soundtrack) alongside an exclusive version that includes a cover sleeve along with the aforementioned extras.
The exclusive edition is currently available for pre-order at $39.99 via the iam8bit website, with the game scheduled to ship on 29th July 2025.
We had the chance to experience The Shire firsthand last year. Here’s what we thought about it back then:
“Tales of the Shire proudly showcases its culinary passion, and we walked away genuinely astonished by something that initially appeared uninviting. You can embellish your Hobbit dwelling, engage in fishing, and nurture bonds with fellow Hobbits. While it may not feel entirely unique—blending various elements from other life-simulation games—Tales of the Shire is at least trying to establish its own niche by concentrating on the cooking aspect.”
