Nintendo Alarmo is currently available to purchase for $100 at Best Buy. The Nintendo-themed interactive alarm clock first became available in October at the Nintendo Store, but a Switch Online membership was needed to buy it. Meanwhile, Nintendo stated that Alarmo will be released at major retailers in March 2025. The quirky device has arrived a bit sooner than anticipated.

Currently, Alarmo is primarily available at Best Buy (and the Nintendo Store). That said, we expect this gamified alarm clock to appear at other major retailers soon, including Walmart, Target, and GameStop. It is also possible that Amazon will sell it as well. While the retail giant doesn’t currently stock Nintendo Switch products, it still offers a wide variety of official Nintendo merchandise.

The Mario-red alarm clock features a vibrant display and integrated speaker. Before you go to sleep, you can select which Nintendo characters and games will wake you up the next morning.

Alarmo was launched with sounds and visuals from five popular Nintendo Switch games, including Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. So far, Nintendo has added two more titles through free post-launch updates: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

In total, there are over 40 scenes that can be displayed on the screen when the corresponding tracks from the games rouse you from slumber. You can also adjust the volume over time. As a heavy sleeper, I utilize this feature.

Nintendo Alarmo showcases scenes from the following games:

  • Super Mario Odyssey
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons
  • Splatoon 3
  • Pikmin 4
  • Ring Fit Adventure

Alarmo also comes with several engaging interactive features. The built-in motion sensor allows you to snooze your alarm with a gesture or a button press (the choice is yours). Nintendo characters from the games mentioned above can also respond to motion-activated gestures.

Throughout the day, Alarmo can also be used to remind you of the time by setting it to play music at specific intervals. It can even track your sleep patterns and suggest how long you’ve been tossing and turning, offering a comprehensive overview of your sleep quality.

Alarmo is powered by an included USB-C cable. While it does not operate wirelessly, the built-in coin battery preserves your settings, allowing you to move the clock to another room or during a power outage without needing to reset it.

Nintendo intends to release additional updates, including new scenes, for Alarmo in the future. Updates are free, but you will need to connect the device to Wi-Fi to receive them.

In the realm of unofficial updates, it is technically possible to play Doom on Nintendo Alarmo.
