Another addition to the roster

In the past week or so, we have observed several Call of Duty games make their way to the Microsoft Store on PC, indicating they might soon be set for Xbox Game Pass eventually. Although we still lack confirmed XGP dates for these seven COD titles, yet another one has appeared on the storefront – and it may end up being the most popular of them all.

Indeed, late last night, 2012’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 launched on the Microsoft Store for PC. As of now, the 360 version of BO2 ranks among the top 25 paid Xbox games in both the US and the UK – so it’s reasonable to say that its Game Pass release could potentially do quite well on the platform.

As we have previously stated regarding these Microsoft Store PC releases, there is no fixed timeline on when this lineup of classic ActiBlizz games will arrive on Xbox Game Pass. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy saw its Microsoft Store PC release in April, but it wasn’t until November that it joined Xbox Game Pass, whereas Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 had a fresh PC release in June and is still yet to be added to the service.

Nonetheless, it is a sign that the game will eventually join the library sometime, so we can expect to see Black Ops 2 — along with a host of other classic COD titles — arrive on Xbox Game Pass in 2025.
