MechWarrior, is that you?
While assembling our comprehensive list of Xbox Retro Classics launch titles earlier today, I couldn’t help but notice we’ve included a PlayStation 1 title! MechWarrior 2 is this entry, initially launched for the PS1 in April of 1997.
To clarify, Xbox Retro Classics utilizes Antstream Arcade‘s streaming capabilities to deliver the PS1 edition of MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat to your chosen device, which means you’re experiencing the authentic PlayStation version of this game – rather than the Windows, DOS, or Mac adaptations that were also made available, for instance.
The same concept holds true for all the other titles featured in Xbox Retro Classics, with some being SNES versions, some AMIGA versions, some DOS versions, some Atari 2600 versions, etc.
There are many significant games that might interest you more than this one, including titles like Pitfall, Commando, and Grand Prix, but personally, I am particularly intrigued by MechWarrior 2 above the rest – and I can’t wait to test it out!
If you’re seeking more details about Xbox Retro Classics, we’ve discussed it a good amount this afternoon here at Pure Xbox, so we’ll share some related articles below. It’s complimentary to play with any Xbox Game Pass memberships at present.
