Remake in progress?
Nearly 20 years have passed since the debut of the iconic horror title Condemned: Criminal Origins on Xbox 360, and as we near its two-decade milestone, it has unexpectedly been removed from both Steam and the Xbox Store.
This situation appears to have been initially pointed out by an Xbox enthusiast on Reddit a few days prior, with the removal seemingly occurring on October 31st across both platforms. No announcement was made regarding this, and none has surfaced since.
There is clearly a significant amount of conjecture regarding the current situation, with many speculating that a remastered edition or remake may be in the works to commemorate the 20th anniversary. Some have suggested that Nightdive Studios would be an excellent choice to revitalize this game in 2025, and that definitely resonates well with us!
We will certainly monitor the developments, but for now, you can still play Condemned: Criminal Origins if it’s already in your library – it has just been removed for new digital acquisitions. The 20th anniversary is on November 22nd, which coincidentally aligns with the 20th anniversary of the Xbox 360 itself.
