Ubisoft Provides Update On Offline Mode For Two ‘The Crew’ Titles

The first to come “before the end of 2025”

Last year, Ubisoft announced that following the delisting and shutdown of The Crew, it was planning to implement offline modes for The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest – so that fans can continue to enjoy these games beyond their end-of-life status. Today, the team has provided an update on this pair of offline patches.

Speaking in a new update video, Ubisoft announced that it is focusing on The Crew 2 first, and that it aims to bring offline play to that one before the end of 2025. However, due to the complex nature of making an always-online game fully playable offline, this will require multiple testing phases before the full version is complete.

“As announced during our last The Crew Showcase, both The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest will receive an offline mode. Today, we will be focusing on The Crew 2, with the initial stages of its development progressing smoothly.

We are pleased to confirm that we are aiming to deploy a new hybrid way to play the game before the end of 2025 for all The Crew 2 players.”

That ‘hybrid’ way to play basically consists of both an online and an offline mode – and it’ll remain like that before the game goes fully offline when Ubisoft decides to pull the plug on support. Community testing on this The Crew 2 hybrid mode begins next week for “select” PC players – from April 30th to be exact.

As for The Crew Motorfest, that game’s offline mode sounds much further down the line, with the team at Ivory Tower currently focusing on the game itself and providing live service updates. However, Ubisoft does tell us to “rest assured, The Crew Motorfest will receive an offline mode” at some point in the future.
