Both titles are free-to-play
As the month begins, we typically share details about upcoming server shutdowns, and currently, we are aware of two Xbox games that will cease operations in May 2025.
The first is MultiVersus, which was confirmed in January to be going offline on May 30th. Post this date, the game will remain playable for local multiplayer, but ensure you have it downloaded beforehand.
The second title flew under our radar, which is Dauntless (thanks to True Achievements for the insight), another free-to-play game on Xbox that will shut down its servers on May 29th. Sadly, this game will become entirely unplayable (unlike MultiVersus), meaning you can’t experience it offline at all. Quite unfortunate!
- Dauntless (May 29)
- MultiVersus (May 30)
Additionally, we are aware that NHL 23 will exit the EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate libraries on May 1st, and Saber Interactive has indicated that Evil Dead: The Game will be removed from Xbox soon.
Looking forward, we can anticipate more significant titles shutting their Xbox servers in June, including XDefiant and Resident Evil Re:Verse. Next month’s list is likely to be considerably longer than May’s!
