“An adrenaline-fueled accessible survival horror FPS”

You may have heard by now that two titles were unexpectedly released on Xbox Game Pass after today’s Xbox Partner Preview showcase, and one of those is the survival horror game Total Chaos.

The unexpected nature of this announcement implies there are scarcely any opinions on the game so far, but we have stumbled upon the initial official evaluation for Total Chaos submitted by ScreenRant.

Their critique indicates that they’ve played 20 hours of Total Chaos, courtesy of a PC code provided by the PR team, and overall, they’re quite impressed with the title, awarding it an 8/10 rating.

Here’s a snippet from the conclusion:

“More than anything, I connected with Total Chaos‘ inventive dungeon-diving routine, its secrets and frights, its bizarre twists and chaotic confrontations, and I even relished dealing with my overstuffed inventory. There are options to toggle things off, from hunger to weapon wear, but I navigated through the game on standard and found its mechanics bountiful and satisfyingly manageable. Ultimately, Total Chaos absolutely hits that melancholic survival horror sweet spot that I didn’t even know I was craving.”

It sounds like it’s definitely worth experiencing! The advantages emphasize how it’s a “nightmarish survival horror FPS that strikes that sweet balance between suffocating and approachable” full of excellent weapon diversity, sound design, and a prolonged journey, while the drawbacks mention difficulty in navigating its expansive chapters, its storyline utilizing some “frequently-used horror game clichés,” and the absence of a New Game+ mode at launch.

Numerous additional reviews will be forthcoming in the hours ahead, but it’s great to have an insight into its development in the interim – and now we’re even more eager to explore it on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate / PC Game Pass!

Fort Oasis is no paradise—it’s a deteriorating nightmare where reality collapses. The creator of Turbo Overkill unleashes survival horror filled with enigmas and creatures. Scavenge to forge weaponry, while a voice on your walkie-talkie leads you into the island’s interior.
