As per Alinea Analytics
The friendly team over at Alinea Analytics has provided their estimations for the leading cross-platform downloads from last week (covering Xbox, PlayStation and Steam), and it presents quite fascinating insights.
Interestingly, the top position was claimed by EA Sports College Football 26, but exclusively because its 10-hour EA Play trial was accessible to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers too. The game achieved 1.9 million downloads across all platforms last week, with twice as many on Xbox compared to PlayStation thanks to Game Pass.
Another title that enjoyed significant gains from Game Pass (at least regarding downloads) was Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. This game reportedly accumulated 1.2 million downloads last week, with 69% of those occurring on Xbox. The sales information appears somewhat perplexing to us though – 100k individuals are claimed to have purchased it on Steam and PlayStation last week, with no updates on Xbox as of yet.
As illustrated in that image, the third position was occupied by a game titled PEAK, which we hope to eventually see on Xbox – but it remains PC-exclusive for the moment. Cyberpunk 2077 made the list due to its inclusion in PlayStation Plus, along with a recent substantial discount on Steam.
Lastly, Mecha BREAK debuted as an Xbox and PC exclusive to significant attention earlier this month, and last week it was downloaded 668,000 times (as a free-to-play title). The majority of those downloads were on Steam, although 135,000 were on Xbox. It has seen 600k players on Xbox so far, but its DAU and CCU figures are reportedly “declining rapidly”.
There’s additional information in the analysis itself if you’re curious, and while we aren’t particularly astonished by any of this, the top two positions certainly illustrate how influential Xbox Game Pass can be in attracting substantial player numbers!
