If it ever gets revealed, that is

Earlier this month, we saw some leaked images and details of the 2025 Xbox handheld console – which is seemingly in development right now over at ASUS. While the device hasn’t been formally announced yet, this early leak did give us our first idea of what the console can do, and we’re curious to know if you folks are interested in buying one of these in 2025.
According to the leak, which came from the FCC, this device contains a Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor with 8 cores and a TDP of 36W, and 64GB of LPDDR5-8533 memory. This puts it at slightly more powerful of a system than ASUS’s standard ‘ROG Ally 2’, so it definitely feels like there’s a space for this on the handheld market right now.
Unfortunately, one area that this month’s leak didn’t cover was the actual price of the system – we still have no idea what the 2025 Xbox handheld will cost. That figure is likely to have an impact on how many people will be interested in this thing, but we’re hoping Microsoft can work with ASUS to keep costs low, and to deliver a more console-like price point here.
Here at PX HQ, there’s mixed levels of excitement for this particular device. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing some form of new Xbox hardware this year, but there’s no doubt that a proper Xbox-manufactured handheld — as is currently reported for 2027 — would generate a bit more hype over here. Still, we’re very much intrigued by what Microsoft and ASUS are cooking up for this year!
So, do you think this will be on your to-buy list this year? Talk to us about that prospect down below.
