A sequel has been confirmed

For a while now, we’ve heard rumours about a new mainline Ghost Recon game in the works over at Ubisoft, and this week, our sister site Push Square shared new comments from the company that basically confirmed its existence. So, what direction would you want the team to take with the next Ghost Recon title?
Speaking of rumours, we have also heard that the next game would be a more realistic take on the series, although that hasn’t been confirmed just yet. Is this something you’d be into? Or would you like Ubisoft to lean into more of the open world shenanigans that it introduced with 2017’s Ghost Recon Wildlands?
We did quite enjoy that 2017 outing, but we must admit that by the time Breakpoint rolled around roughly two years later, we were kinda sick of the formula truth be told. With that being the case, we do think going back to the drawing board is probably the right call for the future of Ghost Recon – so we’ll just have to see what the team at Ubisoft has been cooking for the last six years or so.
If you look at the current FPS landscape, realism and authenticity do seem to be aspects folks are looking for, too. Titles like Delta Force and Ready Or Not are pulling in huge numbers, so maybe it would pay off to see Ubisoft take some inspiration from these sorts of experiences? Who knows, but it does feel like a good time to give Ghost Recon a new lease of life whatever direction the team takes.
With that all said, what would you like to see from the next Ghost Recon? Discuss it with your squad and tell us what you think down in the comments.
