Happy Bungie Day, everyone! Since July 7th, 2007, the founders of Halo and Destiny have been commemorating Bungie Day on this date – a tribute to the company’s peculiar fondness for the number 7.
It may not carry much significance these days – although the studio is acknowledging Bungie Day once more this year – but at one time it was quite significant, with Halo 2 and Halo 3 even featuring accomplishments tied to the date. As you can observe, some Xbox enthusiasts are already celebrating by engaging in classic multiplayer:
We thought it would be a great chance to gather your most cherished Halo memories – we could use a bit more optimism after a tough week in the Xbox universe.
Whether it’s firing up Halo for the first time during the original Xbox days, a particular multiplayer experience in Halo 2 or Halo 3, a fondness for one of the newer installments like Halo 5: Guardians and Halo Infinite, a memorable moment in one of the campaigns that took your breath away, or anything else that comes to mind, we would love to know!
And just a reminder, don’t overlook that we’ll be learning more about the future of Halo in a few months, with Halo Studios set to present a significant reveal at the Halo World Championships in October.
