Talking Point: So, Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Worth The Hype On Xbox Game Pass?

Eight years in the making

After years and years of waiting, Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight: Silksong graced Xbox Game Pass this past week – and with an initial lack of pre-launch reviews out there, we’ve been keeping tabs on what players think via user ratings and social media impressions. Now though, we want to know what the Pure Xbox readership thinks of the game so far.

It’s tough with a game like this to not get carried away with the hype, but so far, it’s looking very much like Team Cherry has delivered exactly what Hollow Knight fans wanted from a sequel. After just a couple of days on the market, Silksong has an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive‘ rating on Steam, and its 4.5 star rating on the Xbox Store suggests it’s going down well on Game Pass too.

We’re seeing folks heap praise on the game’s visuals, animation work, interesting mechanic tweaks, music and more – with the game’s low barrier of entry likely attracting plenty of punters too. Yep, outside of its Xbox Game Pass inclusion of course, Team Cherry is charging just $20 for this experience on all major platforms. That’s one way to get folks to try out your highly-anticipated game here in 2025!

Anyway, with all that said, we want to know your early impressions of Hollow Knight: Silksong so far – or maybe even your full rating if you’ve been grinding this one over the last few days! In fact, chuck us your early review scores in the poll down below, and feel free to elaborate further in the comments section underneath.

Talk to us about your Hollow Knight: Silksong impressions down below.

When he’s not clutching an Xbox controller like his life depends on it, Ben spends his time listening to music that’s far too old for him, watching football on the telly and probably eating somewhere.
