Honestly, what a fantastic month for XGP!
- by Ben Kerry
With today’s final Xbox Game Pass update for April 2025, we’re nearly finished discussing this month’s new offerings to the library – but not before we highlight just how remarkable April 2025 has been for Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service.
In fact, we believe this could rank as the greatest month ever for Xbox Game Pass, truly. While we’ve likely had some busier months in the past, considering only quality? Particularly for day-one releases? Honestly, we can’t recall a month quite like this one… ever.
Let’s revisit the significant additions this month, shall we? April 8th marked a pivotal day for the service as Diablo 3 and South of Midnight joined the library; the latter being one of our favorite Xbox Game Studios releases in a long time. The beginning of the month also brought indie sensation Blue Prince, which surprised everyone by delighting XGP enthusiasts.
There was a slight lull in the middle of the month, but Microsoft packed the latter half of April with iconic titles. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched sequentially like an incredible Xbox Game Pass duo, and now Towerborne has also joined the library. Another first-party title arriving this month!
Several of April’s smaller additions, like the revival of GTA 5 and tomorrow’s Far Cry 4, are also quite notable – so indeed, we’ve concluded this is the finest month of Xbox Game Pass ever. We’ve just made that decision here at PX!
Of course, you might not agree with our assessment, but we’re eager to hear your opinions! Is this the finest month for Xbox Game Pass thus far?
