Since Stray made its debut, feline-themed games have surged in popularity, and a fresh alternative from the developer Spoonful of Wonder certainly embraces this trend – with its cleverly titled adventure Copycat.

Copycat is a “touching narrative-focused game about rejection, belonging, and the essence of home”; similar to what Stray offered. This new endeavor to captivate cat enthusiasts globally “narrates the tale of a recently adopted shelter cat whose place in the household is usurped by a copycat” – encouraging players to “keep tissues handy” as they engage with the story.

“It’s a brief yet emotional catventure about affection, grief, and identity, conveyed entirely from a cat’s perspective. Guided by a nature-documentary narrator, you’ll explore sunlit yards and shadowy alleys while embarking on a poignant journey to rediscover what ‘home’ truly signifies.”

Copycat has been available on PC since last year and has performed reasonably well since its release. Over on Steam, the game has amassed nearly 2,000 reviews with a ‘Very Positive’ rating, and it’s now set to launch on consoles. Copycat will make its feline entry for Xbox Series X|S on May 29th, 2025, priced at just $14.99.

We’ll showcase some in-game visuals from Copycat below, and you can view the team’s console trailer at the top.
