“Unless arrangements alter…”
- by Ben Kerry
During August, we encountered distinct speculations regarding Xbox’s Starfield – both concerning the game extending to additional platforms in 2026. Initially, we learned about a PS5 edition arriving in Spring, before insider NateTheHate revealed that a Switch 2 version was also expected at some point next year. Now, that same source is asserting that there will be no announcement regarding Starfield until 2026 either.
Responding to an inquiry on social media, NateTheHate states that they “believe” the Starfield PS5 announcement will occur in 2026 “unless arrangements alter”. Based on their Switch 2 intel from a few months back, we would infer that the game will likely be announced for the Nintendo platform simultaneously as well.

Naturally, for the time being, this remains all speculation and should not be accepted as fact or anything – we merely wished to inform you all that any subsequent Starfield announcements are unlikely to surface this year. We’re giving special attention to the Bethesda RPG’s potential as, well, we’re somewhat anticipating any port news to coincide with significant updates — and potentially even a new DLC expansion — for Xbox users. Only time will reveal that, but Bethesda has indeed hinted at it!
Regardless, despite events like The Game Awards approaching in just over a month or so, it appears increasingly improbable that we will receive any substantial news regarding Starfield until 2026. All eyes on next year for the Bethesda RPG, then, right? Here’s hoping!
