Rumour: Halo 2 & 3 Remakes Are Supposedly Coming After Halo: Campaign Evolved

No multiplayer, however

With the announcement of Halo: Campaign Evolved now public, it’s only logical to ponder what other ventures Halo Studios is preparing as part of its new multi-title strategy – and a fresh rumour hints that the team might be transitioning to additional Halo remakes.

As disclosed by social media handle Halo Leaks — which has had certain predictions correct previously — “Halo 2 & Halo 3 are undergoing remakes” as “no multiplayer, only campaign” releases. The two remakes are reportedly set to introduce a sprint functionality as well, similar to the new feature Halo Studios is implementing in Campaign Evolved.

As indicated in the above tweet, it’s implied that the upcoming mainline Halo title is where multiplayer will be available – which is something we have previously heard rumours about. It appears that Halo Studios wishes to avoid dividing its online player community between that project and any remakes, which if accurate certainly makes sense.

Currently, there doesn’t seem to be any additional context provided regarding this rumour post, even if the account appears rather confident about this strategy for the future of Halo. It’s definitely advisable to take this with a significant amount of skepticism for the time being, at least until Halo Studios verifies these projects. Halo: Campaign Evolved is anticipated to launch on the series’ 25th anniversary next year, and if the team aims to undertake a similar approach for Halo 2 and Halo 3, those might debut in 2029 and 2032, accordingly. That’s pure speculation at this stage, though!

Prepare your heaps of salt and converse about this rumour in the comments below.
